Not every bird seed is for every bird. This one’s selective.
Safflower is a clean, simple seed that attracts the birds you want and leaves out the ones you don’t. Cardinals, chickadees, and nuthatches go for it. Squirrels, grackles, and starlings usually pass it up.
It has a slightly bitter taste and a hard shell, which is why it works so well for more controlled feeding. You get steady bird activity without the usual crowd taking over.
